Who is responsible

The data controller for this website is Mario Del Giudice (SorrentoHikes), Sorrento Peninsula, Italy. For any privacy request, write to hello@sorrentohikes.com.

The short version

SorrentoHikes has no accounts, no login, no contact forms and no newsletter. We do not sell data and we do not build advertising profiles. The only data we handle is the minimum needed to keep the site running and, if you allow it, anonymous statistics.

What we collect

Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical data on each request — IP address, browser type, date and the page requested — for security and to keep the service working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, we collect anonymous, aggregated statistics about which pages are read and which buttons are used. This never identifies you personally. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Analytics provider: Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited); GA4 anonymises IP addresses by default and data may be transferred outside the EU under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Third parties that receive data

Hosting provider — stores the site and processes server logs.

Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics 4) — only after consent (see above).

Google Fonts — the site currently loads fonts from Google’s servers, which receives your IP address to serve them.

Pexels — photographs are served from the Pexels image CDN (images.pexels.com), which receives your IP to deliver the images.

We do not transfer your data to anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary technical cookies and, only with your consent, anonymous analytics cookies. Full detail — names, purposes and durations — is in our Cookie Policy. You can change or withdraw consent at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. Because we hold almost no data that identifies you, some of these will not apply, but you can always ask. Write to hello@sorrentohikes.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

Children

This site is a general travel guide and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date below always shows the current version.
